Any ideas? I put an entire new deck and carpet on my tracker tournament V and after putting everything back together my nav lights, bilge, and other electronics are not working at all does anyone have any suggestions? Any help??? This sounds like high pressure in the lower gear resevour. What happens is the boat runs fine untill the lower unit gear lube gets hot and builds up to much pressure. The engine will pop and die. The pressure then releases. Starting It will then start and run for a bit longer before doing it again. FIX … Drain the lower unit gear lube and refill the resevour fully.
The original cause is usually low gear lube level.The CJ2As wiring is about as simple as it gets, but the wiring diagrams in the Willys manuals are a compromise, and can be confusing. Since most of these coils burned out long ago, and replacements haven't been made for near 50 years, most CJs have the newer coil setup.

Often an older building has poor or no working local electrical ground, relying instead on the incoming neutral wire from the electrical service.
Or the building's main electrical ground may have relied on connection to a metal water pipe connected to a well. In other words the local ground was completely ineffective.
Modern electrical grounding at residential properties requires use of one or more grounding electrodes connected by an un-spliced wire between the electrode and the ground and neutral bus in the main electrical panel.
Bare aluminum electrical ground wires are sometimes found to have corroded entirely through where the wire touched a damp foundation wall. We also find that the ground wire between the electrical panel and a building water pipe or grounding electrode has become separated, loose, spliced, or lost entirely, as shown in our photo.
If your outlets have two slots that are the same size, then they are neither polarized nor grounded. This leaves you with no protection against shocks from defective fixtures or appliances using that outlet. At the very least, you need to install polarized outlets. You cannot and should not install grounded electrical outlets on circuits where no ground path is actually present such as knob and tube wiring.
To provide a grounded outlet where no ground is present is dangerous. Older, ungrounded circuits usually are protected by polarization, which is less effective than grounding but better than nothing. Grounded and polarized receptacles work only if they are wired correctly.
An older home may have electrical service that is inadequate or even unsafe. It can be confusing, as well. Some older homes have only volt electrical service. The electrical cable bringing electricity to the building provides two wires - one live or "hot" rather than two and a neutral entering the house. Our photo shows a single hot wire and a single neutral wire which is grounded by the utility company somewhere upstream from this home. Modern electrical service provides at least amps of power, which is enough to power, a medium-size house with average number of appliances.
A house built in the s or before may only have amp service the circuit box will have only two fuses or amp service four fuses - see our photo. With so few circuits, the number of appliances you can run will be limited. Even if a building has had additional electrical circuits installed, thus improving the distribution of electrical power in the home, if the main electrical panel has not been up-graded it is possible that it is too small for the current usage in the building.
If your building has been wired correctly, the circuit breakers or fuses should protect the building from a fire due to overloaded circuits, and what will remain is an inconvenience: having to replace fuses or re-set circuit breakers.Additional Comments: Love the site! It is not far from the existing light, so will I need to run wire from existing box to the two new boxes. How do I close it off? The easiest way to add new light fixtures is to run the new wiring to the existing light fixture, splice the wires together as the old fixture was connected and then place a decorative blank cover over the fixture box.
Arlington makes a white blank fixture box cover that works very well for this type of application. If you would like to remove the light fixture box, and there is access to the attic area then the fixture box could be removed, and the wiring installed into a new junction box located in an accessible location where the new wiring for the additional light fixtures may be connected.
The new junction box must be securely mounted and an blank cover must be installed after all the wiring connections have been completed.
Question from Rob, a Homeowner in Ottawa Canada: I have what I am sure is a simple question, but I want to be sure as the new light switches I want to install are expensive digital switches. The new switches are obviously meant to be 3-way as they have a Red wire in addition to Black, White, Green. The old switches are not 3-way though and the electrical box they are in does not even have RED wires. The one old switch is the only switch controlling one light, while the other old switch is the only switch controlling three other lights.
My guess would be that I just cap off the Red wires from the new switches as they are not needed, but I do want to be sure. You are correct, when s new switch will not be used as a 3-way switch the Red wire is capped off with a small wire connector or electrical tape.
